Hello guys welcome to
the review of the Redmi Note 9 Pro by Xiaomi. The device was recently launched and
permit me to nickname this device as a beast. You will fall in love with this
device especially if you are from Africa where stable power supply has been a
thorn in the flesh. Ride with me as we voyage together in the world of Redmi
Note 9 Pro.
BUILD:
This
device is made with a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), glass back (Gorilla Glass
5), plastic frame attached to it. It carries a weight of 209g with a dimensions
stated at 165.8 x 76.7 x 8.8mm making a giant 6.67 inch IPS LCD Capacitive
touchscreen with 16M colours display. The resolution is a 1080 by
2400 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9. A PPI of about 400 density.
As
advertised it has a 450 nits type brightness which would make it convenient to
use under direct sunlight.
I
can categorically say that I love this giant display because it will be
convenient for gaming and watching movies.
PLATFORM: The operating system or User interface
on this device is the Android 10, MIUI 11 out of the box. Although users of
this device are currently awaiting the MIUI 12 that was released few months
ago.
The
Chipset on this device is the Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G (8nm). The G
there stands for gaming, meaning this device is meant to game efficiently and
to conveniently function under high intensity. The processor is an 8 Nanometre
semiconductor that is power efficient. Meaning the likes of Redmi NOTE 8 proand INFINIX ZERO 8 can’t compete with this
device when it comes to power efficiency. Cracfted with an Adreno 618 GPU.
What
more do you want from a device which is tagged MID RANGE device. This is just
so excellent comparing it with other brands and devices within its rang.
MEMORY: The Redmi Note 9 pro comes in two
different memory configuration which include:
ü 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM
ü 128GB ROM and 6GB RAM
With
a dedicated micro SD card slot with support up to 500GB of storage.
CONNECTIONS: this device supports dual SIM stand
bye. Other connections include the WLAN fast connection, a Bluetooth 5.0
connection. Attached to it is an IR blaster for remote control. It doesn’t
support NFC but REDMI NOTE 9 PRO supports NFC. It has an FM radio plus a type C
usb cable cable of fast charging and fast data transfer.

SOUNDS: the speakers are just too great. The
downward firing speaking has a fantastic bass when listening to music, movies
etc. and it support a 3.5mm jack for headphones etc.
FEATURES: It feature a side mounted finger print
sensor which is just too fast and easy to reach. Underneath it is the power
button. So a user needs to be very careful in using this device power button.
You can simply press down the button for power button option and simply tap on
the button for finger print option. It is a very cool device.
MAIN
CAMERA: This
device housed a quad core camera at the rear. The main camera is a 64 Mega
pixel camera found and debuted with the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It has not
really disappointed in terms of function.
Then the 8 MP camera for ultrawide mode, 5 MP camera for Macro photo and 2 MP
camera for Depth sensing. It supports video recording at 4k 30/60/90/120/960
fps with a 1080p display.
The
selfie camera is a single 16 MP camera featuring HDR panorama mode. With the
help of screen flash, Xiaomi has made it easy for night selfies.
This
is the device we can really claim to be an upgraded version to Redmi Note 8
pro.
BATTERY
AND CHARGING SPEED: Hardly would
you see smartphones these days with a battery capacity less than 4000mAh. Infact
a whole Samsung will be using a whooping 7000mAh battery on their Samsung
Galaxy M51 which I will be making a review on this week. So this days smartphones manufacturers are generous with
battery capacity per say.
The
battery of this device is a giant 5020mAh battery with a 33W charger out of the
box but the device is calibrated to charge at a maximum speed of 30W only. Am
really excited eith this fast charging capability. Meaning lesser time faster
charging percentage could be gained. Infact from the charging speed test this
device was able to charge from 0-100% within 1 hour 12 minutes very interesting
right?
Note
that recently Infinix launched the Infinix Zero 8 with the same charging speed
capability. So I really love the competition as long as the end users enjoys
quality and efficiency with their budget. I actually do not like the 18W charging ability on Redmi Note 9S taking it up
to 2 hours to fully charge from 0-100%.
In
terms of battery life this device can last about 8 hours of gaming, 12 hours of
heavy usage and 24 hours of light usage depends on the user.

COLOURS: This device comes in three colour variants
which include the AURORA BLUE, GLACIER WHITE and INSTERSTELLAR GRAY. The weight
is about 210 grams. The weight shouldn’t scare you because its still portable
to hold.
PRICE: In Nigeria the price
is still dropping and you could get this device currently at N110, 000.00 for
the 128GB ROM 6GB RAM option. This is the best when it comes to value for money
my guys. It fits into all categories. Sometimes I wonder if this is a mid-range
device or a flagship device.
I hope you choose wisely when and if
you decide on purchasing this wonderful and great device.
